Our Mission: Inspiring the creativity and challenging the skill of accomplished craftspeople and artists.

Founded in 1993, NCSW meets every other January, providing advanced-level workshops for professional and non-professional artists. Workshop topics and faculty change for each session, offering a variety of intensive and collaborative experiences. North Country Studio Workshops is a non-profit educational organization.

NCSW Planning Committee

North Country Studio Workshop is a conference designed and planned by artists for artists. Its Planning Committee is, and always has been, at the heart of every North Country Studio Workshops conference.

Planning Committee members are all artists or craftspeople, many of whom have attended or taught at NCSW.  This dedicated group of volunteers contribute a variety of experiences, talents, and skills. Some are full-time studio artists and others have (or had) careers in other fields while maintaining a high level of commitment to their craft. All are passionate about helping NCSW produce the high quality education.

We invite you to learn more about this amazing group of volunteers and reach out about joining us.

NCSW supports my aspirations as a studio and teaching artist. Participation on the Planning Committee has allowed me to identify mentors, who encourage and challenge me! And the biennial retreats at Bennington provide much needed opportunities to reflect, refocus and re-energize.
— Deb Fairchild, Planning Committee

Professional development opportunities for artists are hard to come by and NCSW therefore plays a uniquely critical role for artists in the region. The opportunity to learn from the best among a network of peers in a beautiful setting has been and continues to be a highlight of my creative life
— Kathy Hanson, Planning Committee
