Medium: Cold Wax

Workshop Title: Meaningful Abstraction

Bring personal direction, meaningful content, subtlety, and strength to your work. Set intentions, understand the alignment of form and content, and explore approaches to abstraction. The week will include an in-depth individual meeting and independent work time. In-class work will include quick, alla prima paintings; a short series; and (as an option) developing in-progress paintings brought from home. Prior experience and extensive practice with cold wax medium is essential.

Rebecca Crowell is widely recognized for her innovative work with cold wax medium and oils. She is the co-author of Cold Wax Medium: Techniques, Concepts & Conversations. She exhibits her abstract paintings in the United States and Ireland, and her work is included in hundreds of private, corporate, and public collections. She has been teaching cold wax workshops since 2009 in the United States and internationally.
