The Kira Fournier Scholarship provides full tuition, room, and board scholarships to an established studio artist in order to promote his/her artistic growth. Established by Benjamin Schore in memory of his late wife, an innovative New Hampshire artist who died in 2002, the scholarship provides a grant to cover tuition and room and board for North Country Studio Workshops 2016. The Young Artist Scholarship covers full tuition, room, and board for an artist under the age of 30, working in any medium. Funded by an anonymous donor, this scholarship is designed to provide an emerging artist with an intensive growth experience that will help launch a career in the arts. Mentor Program: To ensure the future of fine craft by encouraging and enabling the next generation, this program fosters a lasting relationship between an experienced craftsperson (the Mentor) and an emerging craftsperson (the Mentee). The Mentor and Mentee will each receive full room, board, and tuition (exclusive of materials fee and travel) for the duration of the 2018 NCSW workshop. Studio Assistant: Studio Assistants are responsible for assisting the instructor, including studio set up, and are expected to be familiar with the general technical requirements of their particular studio. Studio Assistants are also workshop participants and will have ample time for personal work. Studio Assistants receive a reduction of $125 on their tuition. Applicants must be registered for a workshop in order to apply for Scholarships, Mentor and Studio Assistant positions. Workshop registration and scholarship application materials along with $200 ($150 workshop deposit and $50 non-refundable processing fee) are due by August 15, 2017. Applicants who are later awarded a full $920 scholarship will receive a refund of the $150 workshop deposit. For those who receive a tuition-only scholarship, the deposit will be applied to their room & board.
